An over-sized 24" umbrella stand of the Chinese 'Rose Canton' style. Hand-painted with peacocks, butterflies, a ceremonial scene, and of course, roses. The Rose Canton style originated in the 1820s and became a popular export shortly after. Unsure of the actual age of this piece, but we have not been able to identify the same rare markings on any other similar piece. Useful for umbrellas, walking sticks, golf clubs, etc. A heavy, beautifully decorated and quality piece.
