This rug is woven in the most northerly town of the Kuba region in Azerbaijan named Seichur. Border pieces were unusually designed with leaf and large floral pattern instead of 'running dog' or it's also called "Georgian" border. In the center, we are looking at a series of 'St. Andrew's Cross' motives, which is a common also the most characteristic motive woven on Seichur rugs. The stylized flowers in the center piece referred as ''Ispigyulchichi", according to Kerimov, meaning 'white flower'. Like other examples of this family, warp and pile was made out of wool and weft is cotton.
