Classic original lettuce ware designed by Dodie Thayer. Each piece is signed. A fabulous collection, in great vintage condition. Two of the salad plates have some chips - see photos. Besides that, great condition. Dodie Thayer is rare and hard to find. Especially in a collection like this. You may find one or two pieces for sale but rarely a set.

Dodie Thayer was a self-taught artist and potter. The Florida ceramicist is best known for her line of lettuce ware, which is handcrafted dinnerware, serverware and decorative objects that look like the leaves of lettuce and cabbage. Collectors and enthusiasts of Thayer’s work included Frank Sinatra, the Duchess of Windsor, Jacqueline Kennedy and others.
