This piece seems to have been influenced by the Japanese wabi-sabi style pottery featuring simplicity, imperfection and naturalness.
The round base with the very narrow opening has a potential to have been a traditional tokkuri to house a "go" of sake.

There are no makers marks or signatures so the date of origin and the place of origin are unknown. It is still a stunning piece of ceramic pottery.
