Wine tables like this one … Read more The cedar wine table has recessed round legs and a plain apron and plain stretchers. Wine tables like this one is a recognized form in Chinese antique furniture. It would be found in wine shops or restaurants, or for gatherings. The rectangular table has a wide mitered frame. Several planks joined together formed the table top. Four sets of double mortise and tenon joints connect the round legs to the table. The wide miter and the double joints are a good sign of age. The original patina has been removed and a clear lacquer has been applied all over the table, even underneath the table, covering the true antique patina. The table is devoid of ornamentations, a true reflection of clean lines of Ming Dynasty furniture. See less
