Charming hand-painted wooden toy horse from Japan in its original colors: orange-yellow, petrol blue, and red. The wood shows a warm, timeworn patina that gives the piece instant character.
Dimensions: height 68 cm, width 74 cm, depth 29 cm.
On the underside of the seat, the parents lovingly recorded the purchase details of the rocking horse: 1 June, Shōwa 15 (1940), 3 yen 40 sen, Kanda Shōji, 2 years old. with just a few brushstrokes, the toy gains a soul—a small ritual of pride and tenderness—and becomes a unique object rich in history with a carefully preserved provenance.
