Though it lacks any labels certifying its maker or designer, the high quality of the piece is immediately evident to the touch — it is extremely heavy and stable. from an oval gilded brass base rise two ribbed cylindrical columns of different sizes. A groove in each cylinder holds two beveled-edge glass panes, enclosing two photos placed back-to-back, both visible thanks to the free-standing glass design.
