There’s something about Imari ware that instantly warms a room—the red, the gold, the intricate storytelling panels.

This hand-painted Japanese vase is marked “Gold Imari – Hand Painted” on the underside, placing it in the mid-century export tradition (circa 1950s–1970s). It features a beautifully composed cartouche scene with florals in a ceremonial cart motif, framed by a deep iron-red ground with gilt scrollwork and geometric medallions. The interior is finished in a soft celadon glaze that adds contrast and depth.

While not an antique Meiji-era piece, it draws heavily from that design vocabulary and carries the same decorative richness that makes Imari so collectible. Measures approximately 5.5" tall and 5.25" wide. In very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks observed. Light age-appropriate wear to the base rim and minimal surface wear to gilding consistent with display. Interior clean. Presents beautifully. A charming scale for stacking on books, styling inside a cabinet, or anchoring a small tabletop moment.
