Bronze bust from the 17th century depicting a young boy with wavy hair and a robe gathered at the neck, … Read more Bronze bust from the 17th century depicting a young boy with wavy hair and a robe gathered at the neck, ending in an oval section with a beaded edge. This antique bronze knob in the shape of a human head was used as a handle on period furniture and was originally used as a chest of drawers, secured to the front of the drawer with a threaded rod inside it. This rod evidently broke over time and was replaced with two rods attached to the tin-soldered sheet metal at the base.

Splendid original patina. Central-northern Italy, 17th century. See less
