Typical of the era, the chair back features intricately cut details, upholstered panels front and back, and elaborate carvings at the top of the chair back. There are also carvings at he ends of the chair arms and a scroll detail with small carving at the front of the chair.. The 4 1/2" thick cushion is reversible and also has a zippered back. The chair cushion, back panels and chair seat have been reupholstered by a precious owner. The upholstery fabric is very durable and features a muted yet colorful pattern that is sure to complement most color schemes. We lived in an 1880's Victorian house when my wife discovered the chair at an antique shop. It was a perfect fit and the exact style we were looking for.. Time moves on and we are in the downsizing phase of our lives. See less
