Offered is set of 2 vintage 1960s burnished ceramic resting duck figurines from Tonalá in Jalisco, Mexico. The province is famed for its earth-tone clay and for all the pottery and ceramic art created since the 1950s. They each feature flower motifs on the back and the signature broad stroke agave plant leaves on the breast, typical of the region, as are the colors, made from natural tints native to the area. Hand-painted and burnished glaze. The ducks are quite charming and we've taken close up images of their faces. All images in natural daylight and very true to color.
The large duck measures 12.5" long, 6" wide, 3.25" tall
The smaller duck is 8.25" long, 3.25" wide, 2" tall
