Whimsical art pottery sculpture by Jon Carlos Lopez (b 1940, Michigan), dating to the 1970s. Lopez also collaborated with David Gil/Bennington Pottery on a series of smaller, less complex architecturally based planters.
Funky studio art pottery house sculpture, a wonderful slab construction piece with molded and hand crafted elements. The details on this sculpture are extensive and impressive, from the balcony railings to the mansard roof and window panes…a fantastic and unique piece. While this is hollow and could be used as a planter or vase, it's also quite weighty. It's an incredible statement piece.
Measures 10.5”x 9.5”x 14”. Production, glazing and firing flaws...all commonly seen in these pieces. Bears the Lopez cartouched to the back, low edge. Undated.
