The two parts are joined by a screw and locknut soldered to the casting. They feature beautiful mercury gilding and originally decorated a wrought-iron altar gate, to which they were attached by a central screw. In good condition, except for a minor dent, they date to the first half of the 18th century and are from Lombardy. See less
