(image) handsigned by the artist in pencil artist proof certificate of authenticity this work is one of fifteen artist’s proofs (ea 8/15), signed in ink by pierre soulages. It includes a handwritten dedication by the artist to daniel abadie, art critic and exhibition curator. The screen print was published as part of the original edition of sur le mur d’en face (1979), a rare and important publication that brings together text and image in a dialogue emblematic of soulages’ artistic vision. Signature on the blind stamp "genuine arches satin paper" this screen print stands out for the depth of its black, contrasted with a golden-brown chromaticism that evokes the patina of time through its corroded texture. Through this opposition between opaque black and metallic vibrancy, soulages’ darkness becomes a conduit for light. Ref : lcd7546 this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
