Created by the artisan glass workshops founded in 1921 by André Delatte (1887-1953), this acid-etched multi-layered glass vase, with its typically Art Deco angular pear-shaped form, is characteristic of his work.

Unlike his contemporaries such as Gallé or those of the École de Nancy artistic movement, André Delatte perfected the creation of vases with a more refined and abstract appearance, preferring form over substance. This vase, rather than the floral and organic decorations of the Art Deco period, would distinguish him and make him successful.

This vase tells the story of an entrepreneur with a love for glass and the challenges he faced: the 1930s were marked by several successive crises that would undermine André Delatte's glassmaking business.

Although André Delatte's factories have disappeared, we still have evidence of his works from the Art Deco period, when Eastern French glassmaking enjoyed its golden age, dominating the world stage with ingenious, naturalistic, and iconic designs, now highly collected!

Rare due to its large size, this André Delatte vase is in remarkable condition. Very well preserved, the signature has slightly faded over time. Small drips of glass are visible, which are manufacturing details during glassblowing.
