This beautiful piece, features a striated/wavy design, with a gorgeous, multi-colored drip glaze resembling sea foam washing upon a beach, with hues ranging from turquoise, teal, and seafoam green on the inside, accentuated with gold, white, yellow and brown colors on the upper section and edges, which really pop, in contrast with the rich, chocolate brown color on the exterior (see photos.)

The bowl has a mark embossed into the bottom of the base: "1045/33 W-Germany", indicating its shape, size and where it was made (see photos.). After doing some research and finding some pieces with the same glaze, patterns and colors, we believe this could have been made by Carstens-Tönnieshof, West Germany, circa 1950’s-1960’s. It is a known fact that some of their earlier production pieces, used to have a sticker, rather than being embossed.

Piece is in overall very good, original and vintage condition, with very light marks, signs of age, some naturally occurring imperfections, and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time, on the overall structure, inside, edges, exterior and base (see photos), but no cracks or chips. It is solid, sturdy and has only been gently dusted with respect to its original patina of time.

A truly eye-catching, collectible, conversation piece, that will
compliment any given mid-century, rustic contemporary, modernist or other space, whether used as a centerpiece on a dining room table, coffee or side table, display décor on a large shelf, wall unit or sideboard, as an accent piece in an entry hallway or foyer, etc.
