this is a classic design and original piece, not to be confused with some other, later versions made by adrian reed, like the "suzy stool."

this version is the most desirable, as it is the one made of marine pine, aka "pin maritime des landes" in southwest france.

older versions of the stool, like this one, have wooden folding mechanisms, and 2 pieces of wood under the seat, versus more recent models, that have a plastic folding system, with no additional pieces of wood under the seat. The edging of early versions, also have a bowed ending, on both sides.

stool has been purchased directly from its original (1st) owner, in the village where the sentou factory was established, and it was bought straight from said factory, about fifty years ago, and up until now, was still in use.

piece is in overall good, original and vintage condition with some marks, dents, areas of faded color, signs of age and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time (see photos.)
some small chips at the edging of the legs (see photos.) it looks as though some old repairs may have been done throughout time.
the folding mechanisms are functional (see photos.)
stool has only been cleaned, oiled, waxed and polished with respect to the original patina.
