Solid brass with a natural patina. The area that hold the umbrellas or waling sticks is in the shape of serpents intertwined within each other to create 6 large rings and 6 small rings. The supporting pole is serpents winding around a tree with leaves and grapes. The bottom depicts a kind a cherub face which is very faint (see the 6th picture). The bottom dish also keeps the theme with carved vines and leaves. Beautiful detail. From the Brittany region of France. See less
