Each allegorical maiden is depicted barefoot and in flowing classical dress, holding agricultural symbols — one with a basket of flowers and watering can, the other with a cornucopia and pitcher — representing the bounty and renewal of nature.

The sculptures stand approximately 19.5” & 18” inches tall and rest on naturalistic bases modeled with foliage and scrollwork. Both pieces display elegant movement and detail typical of French and Belgian decorative art from the period, evoking the romantic, nature-inspired style of Auguste Moreau and his contemporaries.

These are solid and well-balanced decorative castings, offered as a matching pair with original patinated finish and light, age-appropriate wear consistent with their age. Unsigned, but characteristic of continental production circa 1890–1910.
