Pair of turn-of-the-century (late Qing Dynasty) adjustable lantern stands from southern China. The height of the stands are adjustable by lifting top portion and engaging a wood lock in the middle section. (Please see photos). The height is extendable from 48" to 61".
Wood is jumu (Chinese elm wood).
Poly-chrome color.
Origin is China, probably the southern Fuzhou province.
These would be fantastic home decor items that can be used as light stands, plant stands or exhibited just as they are.
Dimensions are 14 x 7.5 x 48/61 inches. for each lantern.
