A magnificent pair of authentic 19th-century Meissen porcelain sweetmeat figures, exquisitely hand-painted, richly gilded, and modeled after Johann Joachim Kändler’s celebrated 18th-century designs.
Each figure—a finely dressed lady and gentleman reclining in rococo splendor—supports a shell-shaped bowl delicately adorned with colorful floral sprays and 24K gilt trim. Their expressions, draped garments, and soft pastel tones exemplify Meissen’s mastery of form and detail during the Rococo Revival period.
Handcrafted in Germany circa 1860–1880, both pieces bear the Meissen blue crossed swords mark underglaze, with impressed and painted decorator’s numbers—confirming their authenticity and factory origin.
