Operazione 7000 Eichen is an original receipt realized in 1985 by Joseph Beuys in occasion of his solo exhibition held at the Marino Gallery (in Mignanelli Square, Rome) In good conditions, including a wooden frame (28 x 3.5 x 34.5 cm). Hand signed by the artist. Stamp of the Artist. Beuys has always been sensitive to environmental issues: in 1982, he was invited to participate in the 7th edition of "Documenta" at Kassel, and presented the operation "7000 oaks". He installed a pyramid of 7,000 basalt stones in front of the Federiciano Museum. Each of these stones was "adoptable" by a potential buyer. The earnings from the sales of each stone were used to plant an oak tree. The operation, officially completed in 1987, one year after the artist's death, is currently underway: it should take about three hundred years before the 7000 oak trees become the great forest imagined by Joseph Beuys. This is the receipt for a possible buyer of the stone or of the oak three, which had to be filled in by the German artist. Planting trees thus becomes a great collective ritual, capable of evoking the deepest meanings of the relationship between man and nature. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
