An original etching by Mark Catesby on Whatman paper, 1815. Known as the Sea Hermit Crab from the The Natural History of Carolina, Florida and the Bahama Islands by Catesby. Catesby was an English artist and naturalist who embarked on an expedition to discover the uncharted fauna of the Americas. As a self-taught artist, he adopted a unique approach to depicting the natural world. Dimensions: 22 1/2ʺ x 18 1/2".
