Model D42 armchair produced by Tecta, Germany, circa 1980.
The chrome-plated tubular steel frame, designed in the Bauhaus style, forms a cantilever base extended by rounded glides. The seat and backrest, upholstered in natural cane, provide comfort and flexibility, while the rattan-covered armrests extend the harmony of the weave. Inspired by historical models by Marcel Breuer and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the D42 armchair illustrates Tecta's work in reissuing and adapting great modernist classics.
