Tagasode, literally meaning "whose sleeves" is a screen making tradition that flourished in the late 17th century up to the early 19th century. It was created so artisans could display their mastery of color by depicting rich multi colored fabrics. Also for the patron to display their wealth by having the expensive and lavish garments shown.
