Chinese porcelain Famille Rose dragon bowl, a finely formed,shallow bowl,with a finely formed rim of eight, lotus flower petals, a … Read more Chinese porcelain Famille Rose dragon bowl, a finely formed,shallow bowl,with a finely formed rim of eight, lotus flower petals, a pink glazed interior, and a white glazed exterior and inset base. The lotus petals forming the interior rim are decorated with finely drawn, polychrome, Fu Bats amid intertwining vines with artemisia leaves, Buddhist roses and lotus flowers and edged with a thin red trim line. The bottom interior is decorated with a large, red, Shou character flanked by ornate, sky blue, archaic dragons, having a purple peony amid vines with artemisia leaves below and a stylized purple and white Taoist Chime composed of Ru Yi ganodermas above, all on a yellow ground and banded by polychrome, cloud and thunder meanders. A band of yellow fleur-de-lys above two red ringlets accents the exterior bottom of the bowl, just above the short extended foot. A blue, four character, Yongzheng reign mark within double squares is glazed to the inset base. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu, plate stand and fitted, paulownia wood, presentation box is included. Circa early Republic of China era, no later than mid century.
