Cataloguer's Note:
Laney Oxman (American, b. 1946) is a multidisciplinary studio artist celebrated for her richly patterned, deconstructed ceramic and glass works that explore the female form—its shapes, dreams, fantasies, and realities. Educated at Pratt Institute, Corcoran College of Art (BFA), and Tyler School of Art at Temple University (MFA), she refined her craft in ceramics and glass casting at renowned institutions like Pilchuk and Penland. Her work has been exhibited in one-woman shows, represented the American Crafts Council at Paris’s "ObArt" in 1987, and is held in prestigious permanent collections including the Corning Museum, Virginia Museum, the White House, Clinton Library, and the Museum of Arts and Design.
