Beautifully crafted mahogany dressing or shaving mirror featuring a Chippendale Revival design. The mirror is supported by elegant side posts with finial tops and surmounted by a carved and pierced crest with a stylized Acanthus leaf medallion. The mirror tilts within its frame and sits atop a bombe-front base with three dovetailed drawers, fitted with solid brass knobs.
The back panel shows bird’s-eye veneer, and the dovetail construction and finish quality indicate fine craftsmanship, likely from an American or English furniture maker reproducing 18th-century styles. The piece is stamped A607, a maker’s or model code used by several reproduction firms such as Statton, Councill, or Baker Furniture (though this number alone isn’t diagnostic).
