each table features a deep floral relief border with stylised vine and maple leaf motifs, finely worked into the walnut top. The larger table is further embellished with a roundel bearing a stag’s head above the latin motto “amo,” suggesting a heraldic emblem — possibly custom-made for a gentleman’s study or private commission.

the turned legs and double-stretcher supports add an element of refinement while ensuring practical strength. These tables likely date to the late 19th century (circa 1880–1900), combining victorian craftsmanship with hints of earlier jacobean revival styling in the stretcher and leg design.
