Pair of stately and colorful Chinese ceramic Foo Dogs, also know as guardian lions. These figures are traditionally placed in pairs to guard buildings and are believed to offer protection and good fortune.
The body canister of one of the dogs has clearly been repaired having had a major break. Please see and examine last six photos carefully. Fortunately, this is not particularly noticeable obvious when looking on the outside of the piece, but is clearly visible when you remove the lid.
Some wearing of the decorative paint also obvious - see photos.
