Purchased in 2003. The top is transparent glass, while the front panel is translucent. I believe the wood elements are MDF with a wood-grain veneer, but I can't say for sure. It's a heavy, solid piece, though, with sturdy shelves. The max width of the glass top is 53.25 inches. The height to the top of the glass is 38.25 inches. The depth with the glass and base accounted for is 20 inches. The glass top itself is 14 inches deep, and the shelf depth at center is 9.5 inches (see photo). As the last three photos show, the bar has one very tiny nick and a faint scratch near the base of the interior and one line of veneer crazing along the top of the wood. See less
