Rare signed bronze figural inkwell by Austrian sculptor Adolf Hanak (1885–1934), a member of the Vienna Secession movement. Depicts a bearded seafarer or dock worker shading his eyes as he scans the horizon, with coiled rope in hand. The base features timber pier details with a chain draped over a piling, emphasizing the maritime theme.
The inkwell is hidden beneath the pier piling, and the rope element swings freely. Retains original patina; glass inkwell missing.
