The shoulder of the vase is decorated with a band of ornate, floral, lingzhi, Ru Yi lappets partially on the yellow ground of the neck flange and partially on the midnight blue ground of the vase below. Four, large, polychrome, medallions of a finely painted, bird and flower scene on a bright, white ground are quartered around the body of the vase alternating with a Fu bat with a Buddhist rose above, and double fishes and a peony below, amid dense, curling, leafy, flowering vines on a midnight blue ground, continuing the decoration of the neck. The lower body of the vase is accented with a band of tall, Ru Yi lappets topped by heads formed of a turquoise lingzhi and double cloud and thunder meanders, ending in double, red ringlets below. A red, four character, Yongzheng, reign mark within double squares is glazed to the inset base. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu stand is included. Circa Republic of China era, no later than mid century.
