The front is … Read more This elegant KPM armorial amphora presentation vase features heavily gilt griffin handles, on a square pedestal base. The front is adorned with the Nason family coat of arms, which displays three ram heads on an azure shield crowned by a helmet with a fourth ram head above. According to "Fairbairn's Book of Crests of the Families of Great Britain and Ireland," a Royal Coat of Arms with a ram's head couped was granted to Dr. John James Nason of Church House, Stratford-on-Avon circa 1620. The family's motto, "Spe labor levis," means "Hope the work is light."

This vase is ideal for decorating an entryway console table, making a great first impression. It also makes a wonderful gift for a lover of heraldry or Nason descendant. The vase is marked on the underside with the KPM eagle mark used briefly from 1847 to 1849. KPM, which stands for Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur (Royal Porcelain Factory), is Berlin’s oldest porcelain factory, founded in 1763. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
