A stunning antique English transferware plate, circa 1800s, in the pattern entited "Medina". Outer rim is encircled with 8 ship scenes and central scene depicts a large fountain beside neoclassical figures separated from ancient buildings by a river. Medina possibly refers to the old quarters of a North African city typically separated by a wall or more specifically, could refer to the Arabic city in Saudi Arabia of the same name.
