Painting "On the Road to Saintes"
Oil on canvas signed E. Bellini France
This painting, illuminated by a sunset sky, depicts a countryside scene in the town of Saintes. Two carriages follow one another on a road lined with bare trees. Figures dressed in red enliven the painting.
The colors are vivid, and the impressionist style highlights Bellini's mastery as an artist. Emmanuel Bellini was born in Monaco Monte Carlo in 1904 and was particularly fond of the theme of horse-drawn carriages.
His works are exhibited in numerous museums in France, the United States, and Israel.
