An English, oak and leather fire stoking tool, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880. Wonderfully preserved, it combines practical fire-lighting function with superb decorative presence in the Gothic Revival taste.

Crafted from oak with fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
Brown, tanned leather squeezebox in intact, working order
Gives a healthy puff of air with every squeeze to enliven embers
Gothic Revival styling with a spade-shaped fascia
Relief carved quarterfoil motif and foliate medallion to the front panel

Brass blow hole tip displays golden tones with gentle weathering
Replete with breather hole, neatly set into the reverse fascia
Decorated throughout with charming brass stud accents
Leather hanging loop and enclosing strap to the handle edge
