It dates to … Read more This is 1 of 3 antique French Art Deco original fashion drawings we recently purchased in Paris. It dates to c1925. It is in PRISTINE condition. Rare to find original fashion drawings from the 1920s, especially in excellent antique condition. The drawing features a design by J. Mouraud. (see documentation.) It showcases a black and blue design with strong Art Deco geometric elements. Note the long jacket syling with narrow sleeves, the high stand-up collar and the repeated colored design details. Note, too the rear view sketch at lower left. Also, the suble hat design and touches of makeup further typify period creations. Painterly in feeling, they are done in richly colored gouache on thick chestnut tone drawing paper measuring 5.5 x 11.75 inches in size. It comes in a white 8.5 x 14.75 inch mat.
