It dates to … Read more This is 1 of 3 antique French Art Deco original fashion drawings we recently purchased in Paris. It dates to c 1925. It is in PRISTINE condition. Rare to find original fashion drawings from the 1920s, especially in excellent antique condition. The drawing features a design by J. Mouraud. (see documentation.) It showcases a black and red design with Asian inspired elements. Note the pleated sleeves and hem, the delicate florals at the dropped waist and sleeve, and the tiered draped scarf. Note, too the rear view sketch at lower left. Also, the hair style and touches of makeup further typify period creations. Painterly in feeling, the drawing is done in richly colored gouache on thick chestnut tone drawing paper measuring 5.5 x 11.75 inches in size. It comes in a white 8.5 x 14.75 inch mat.
