A beautiful antique Chauncey Jerome steeple clock (or Sharp Gothic, as it would have been called when made) dating to mid 19th century in what appears to be original condition. Originating from New Haven Connecticut. Featuring an eight day pattern, sharp top style, gothic spring and external alarm this is truly a magnificent piece of American history. Gothic spring chimes nearly every 30 minutes. Constructed from dense appealing mahogany styled veneer this Chauncey Jerome clock has withstood the test of time and thus only being left with minimal injury to the peaks of the spires and dazzling patina.
Patterned with a delightful foliate design on the lower glass, most of the paint is still intact with minor marks present seen in the photos. Includes key and pendulum. This elegant clock is just under 20" tall as were most steeple clocks produced by Chauncey Jerome during the mid 19th century. Clock face is distressed with paint cracks/chips showing off this pieces age and originality.
(Clock has been wound up, appears to be in excellent internal condition and no damage to gears/mechanisms)
