This striking cloisonné vase dates to the Republic period (circa 1920–1940s), a time when Chinese artisans blended the exuberant motifs of the Qing Dynasty with a refined, modern sensibility. Ten and a quarter inches tall and 6 inches wide, the vase is richly enameled in shades of deep cobalt, indigo, and turquoise, with stylized chrysanthemum and floral designs outlined in fine gilt wires.
The base retains its traditional turquoise enamel ground, framed by a gilt-bronze foot ring, while the rim shows a warm, authentic patina from age and use. This piece reflects the craftsmanship of its era — with hand-laid cloisonné work and subtle irregularities that give it character and authenticity.
A beautiful example of early 20th-century cloisonné, this vase is perfect for collectors of Republic period Chinese decorative arts, or as a dramatic accent in interiors blending Chinoiserie, Hollywood Regency, Eclectic, or Traditional styles.
