A large vintage Kashmiri papier-mâché box densely hand-painted with multicolored flowers, scrolling foliage, and intricate gold-tone detailing. A circular floral medallion decorates the lid, while the pattern continues across the sides for a richly layered appearance.
Measuring 8 inches wide, the box has enough scale for jewelry, letters, photographs, keepsakes, or decorative display. Traditional Kashmiri papier-mâché combines a lightweight formed body with finely painted and lacquered decoration.
