Limited edition of 1,000 copies, most of which lost or badly damaged overtime. Mounted on canvas. Catalogue Raisonne Reference: Christoph Czwiklitzer, "Picasso Plakate 1923-1973" (1981), no- 87. The exhibition was held at Palazzo Reale from September to November 1953. During the exhibition, many important artist's works were shown. Overall 329 works by Picasso were exhibited, including the famous Guernica, and more than a hundred of his personal collection. Historically, this is one of the most important and wide among Picasso’s exhibitions. This poster is a very rare piece since many parts of the edition were lost during the following years. Pablo Picasso is one of the key figures of modern art. During this period, he made original artworks and developed new imagery and formal syntax. See less
