The impressed circular mark reads “OWENS POTTERY • ORIGINAL • SEAGROVE, NC.” Finished in the signature copper-red (often called Chinese red), a hue the Owens family has perfected over generations. Owens Pottery traces its roots to 1895, producing utilitarian wares that matured into richly glazed art pottery prized by Southern collectors. This example dates to c. 2000 and features a graceful ovoid body, flared lip with bead-like rim, and a deep, glassy red glaze that catches light beautifully—conveying warmth in traditional, cottage, farmhouse, and transitional interiors.
