Squamish Nation carved wood and paint decorated eagle by Neil Baker. Relief carved with highly stylized detail. Leather strap on the back for hanging on the wall. Measures 14 1/8" x 5" x 1/2". Signed by the artist on the back. Good condition.
The Squamish Nation is an Indigenous group within the Coast Salish peoples of Canada, specifically located in British Columbia, with ancestral roots in the Vancouver area and the Squamish River watershed. Neil Baker is a member of the Squamish Nation and hails from the rich vibrant Coast Salish bloodline. Baker is a self-taught artist, dedicated to the traditional art of carving.
