This photogravure depicts that poignant moment when Cleopatra found and extracted Moses from the bulrushes. As you can see, she had some help. It’s noted on this photogravure that it was printed with the permission of the owner at the time, in 1905, Sir John Aird, Bart (copyright).
The original painting (1904) sold for just under 36 million dollars in 2011.
There does not appear to be any foxing on the print. It appears to be in excellent condition (the glass is a bit dirty on the inside). Surely both the matte and the frame are original; I suspect that the print was matted and framed right around the time of its publication.
There is some damage to the frame. The frame measures 31 ¼ by 42 ¼, and the image itself about 19 by 29 ¼.
Note that there are various reflections on the glass.
