This writing desk from the early 20th century is an outstanding example of the fusion between Art Deco and Cubism, specifically the unique Czech variation known as Rondocubism. This style, championed by prominent architects Josef Gočár and Pavel Janák, is characterized by geometric forms and rounded elements, making this desk exceptional design piece.
Crafted from a combination of oak and walnut veneer, this desk have been preserved in the original, authentic condition. The polish has been professionally revitalized to highlight the natural beauty of the wood. This desk is a perfect representation of Czechoslovak craftsmanship and design heritage from the first half of the 20th century.
There are two secret boxes on the back of the desk.
It has been re-polished with polyutherane piano lacquer by our professional refurbishing team in Czechia according to the original process.
