A charming hand-carved and hand-painted decorative armchair, crafted in the Curule-style form, inspired by classical folding chairs of antiquity. Dating to circa 1980, this piece features a beautifully distressed painted finish with faux burled wood decoration and intentional crackled patina to evoke age and character.
Constructed from solid wood, the chair offers sculpted arms, turned finials, and a gently arched backrest. Originally designed as a decorative accent or occasional chair, it works perfectly in coastal, farmhouse, cottage, or eclectic interiors.
Retains its original handwritten maker’s tag noting “Hand Carved and Painted, C. 1980 Curule Burled Wood Decor, Stamped on underside, Byrom E. Bruffee, Decoy’s, Middleboro, Mass.”
A unique statement piece full of personality and artisan craftsmanship.
