The iconic DSX chair - Dining (D) Side Chair (S) on X Base (X) - was designed by the Eameses for Herman Miller in the 1950s. It launched as one of the original 5 base options for the new fiberglass chair model. This set of upholstered DSX shell chairs feature a stunning and vibrant shade of purple with a dark gray trimmed edge and a metal H base (in 1954, the X base was replaced by the more stable and versatile H-shaped base, though the DSX name remained unchanged). The DSX chair is one of a selection of Eames fiberglass chair models that has remained a highly-sought after mid century modern design classic to this day and this set is an excellent vintage example. Original Herman Miller manufacturer’s label, patent label and later Cincinnati milacron star embossed logo on chair undersides.

CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use.
