This striking contemporary ceramic bowl was handbuilt and raku-fired, resulting in a richly textured surface and dramatic, organic form. The exterior features a raw, crackled clay body with soft mineral tones. At the same time, the interior reveals vivid turquoise, teal, and verdigris glazes with metallic undertones, hallmarks of the raku firing process.
Irregular, sculptural edges and visible firing variations give the piece a distinctly wabi-sabi character. The raku process creates unpredictable crackling, smoky markings, and tonal shifts, making this bowl a true one-of-a-kind work. Both functional as an object bowl or displayed as a sculptural vessel.
